抗議対象が県知事「個人」であるはずがないだろ！

Victor Entertainmentが、柴田淳さんが齋藤兵庫「県知事個人を誹謗中傷する」「発言」を「した」とのことで彼女とその事務所に「強く抗議」した。

私事だが、2007年、所属していたSMEの１レーベルが２年で解散となってしまうという大計算外のことが起こって、G String最後のシングルは、当時の我が音楽事務所のおかげを以てVictorから「ワンショット」でリリースしていただいた恩義はある。しかしこのビクターの＜強い抗議＞はあまりの筋違いで、大いに驚くと共に悲しくなった。

「県知事＜個人＞」とはどういうことだろう。＜県知事として＞公益通報者保護法に抵触する可能性がある判断をして通報者の県民局長を探索、処分したことを柴田さんは非難したのであって、知事＜個人＞のことを誹謗中傷などしていない。

齋藤知事支持者や擁護者からそれこそ誹謗中傷されることを覚悟で知事への抗議活動を行なった柴田さんの個人の自由、思想信条の自由を認めないとでも言うのか。

それは「おかしいことはおかしい」と言うことすら制限されるという世を作らんとするかのようであって、音楽というまさに自由精神に基づくものを商う会社として不適切にすぎる認識だ。

そして柴田淳さん・・・私は全くその存在を知らなかったけれど、心から応援したい気持ちでいっぱいだ。

Victor Entertainment strongly protested to Ms. Shibata Jun and her management office, claiming that she had made statements that "slandered and defamed the Hyogo Prefecture Governor personally."

By the way, this is my personal matter, but back in 2007, the SME label I belonged to suddenly disbanded after just two years—a completely unexpected development. Thanks to my music office at the time, my final G String single was released as a one-off by Victor. I remain grateful for that favor. 

However, Victor’s “strong protest” this time is so off the mark that I was both greatly shocked and saddened.

What does “the governor as an individual” even mean? Ms. Shibata Jun criticized the governor’s actions in his official capacity—actions that may have violated the Whistleblower Protection Act, such as identifying and punishing the prefectural bureau chief who made the disclosure. She was not slandering or defaming the governor as a private person.

Does this mean they refuse to recognize Ms. Shibata Jun’s personal freedom and freedom of thought and belief? She engaged in protest activities against the governor, fully aware that she would be subjected to actual slander and defamation from Saito’s supporters and defenders.

This feels like an attempt to create a society where even saying “what is wrong is wrong” is restricted. For a company that sells music—a medium fundamentally based on a spirit of freedom—this is an extremely inappropriate stance.

And to Ms. Shibata Jun… I had no idea who she was until now, but my heart is full of sincere support for her.
